Telecommunications for tomorrow - demonstration in Saudi Arabia today
 

It was a significant test of SHAFAT's prowess -and in the achievement of which we feel distinctly honoured -when the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia commissioned us to help build one of the world's largest microwave telecommunications networks. A sophisticated system that would stretch over 10,000 kilometres from the Red Sea to the Arabian Gulf interspersed with over 500 sites for repeaters and terminals through sandy deserts and desolate mountain ranges of the Kingdom.

SHAFAT went for massive mobilization of its men and resources. With an impressive line-up of resourcefulness and resolution, we could not but prove equal to the trust and responsibility vested in us. In association with American Telephone and Telegraph International (AT&TI), SHAFAT did install hundreds of microwave towers along with ancillary equipment linking all parts of the Kingdom together and linking the Kingdom with the outside world on international network for high speed telephone, telex and TV transmission.

We not only contributed to the realisation of a dream in the Middle East in the shape of Saudi Arabian Intra-Kingdom Microwave Telecommunications Network, we take pride in continuing to provide comprehensive O&M services thereon ever since its inception in 1978.
